While the jacket design took aesthetic inspiration from British herbage the function of the design focused on sporadic rain intervals, a common occurrence in Cornwall. The jacket was thus designed and developed to function both as a bag and a rain coat, enhancing the practicality of the Pac-A-Mac.
The final jacket created was aimed at a younger consumer in order to broaden the Seasalt customer bases. Appealing to younger generations, which have been noted to be moving down to Cornwall on an increasing level.
