My Life in Muted Colour

This body of work develops textiles potential to be a form of communication, by embedding the written word into the knitted structure thus producing garments that are literal forms of personal expression. This piece takes a poem that I wrote within which I reflect on my personal sense of self through the significance and meaning of colour. This poem was then translated into a numerical code which correlates with a variety  of textile techniques I’ve developed over the past year, resulting in each garment communicating the poem written through a different means of textile language, becoming  a pure form of self-expression.
