The brief behind Ironic Beauty was to create a collection in response to a current affair and initially stemmed from a newspaper article ' A virus striking at the heart of terrified families in Brazil'. An article reporting on the Zika disease, a virus contracted by pregnant women which resulted in babies being born with microcephaly. I proceeded with the collection by looking at the literal appearance of Virus's and diseases under the microscope and found these diseases that cause so much devastation to have an Ironic Beauty.
