Borrow Boro

This collection was a completely sustainable capsule collection that sought inspiration from ancient Japanese notions that naturally mirror the ethics of sustainability. Japanese Boro, a method of garment preservation for the Japanese working class and based on the notion of 'mottaini' meaning to good to waste, was a predominant inspiration behind the collections concept and design. Alongside the Japanese notion of ma, the understanding of the importance of space between the body and the garment. The collection aimed to achieve a balance between comfort and aesthetic, aiming to completely fulfil the users desires. Creating a capsule collection that sought inspiration from the past to present clothing for the future.
